Recreating Black Tap’s Birthday Cake Shake

So if you saw my previous post, you would know that I had the pleasure of indulging in Black Tap’s Birthday Cake Shake.  You would also know that it cost a whopping $17.  I know this was something I wanted to try again in my life but I also knew these ingredients were simple to acquire.  For about $12, I was able to make 2 (with plenty of cake to spare) so my at home enjoyment.  This is a simple recipe but one that is just as much fun to make as it is to eat.  If you want to see me make it live, check out our YouTube video here: FGF Recreates the Cake Shake.

Funfetti Cake Shake

Instructions
  1. Follow the Instructions on the box to make the Funfetti Cake
  2. While the cake is baking, coat the glasses in the icing about 1/4 of the way down the exterior and coat in the rainbow sprinkles.
  3. Stash those in the freezer until you are ready to pour the milkshakes in them
  4. While the cake cools, mix a handful of the sprinkles with the remaining icing
  5. Add a thin layer to the top of one cake a stack the layers
  6. Ice the entire cake in the sprinkle filled icing
  7. Coat (and slightly press in) the iced cake with the remaining sprinkles.
  8. In a blender, mix the whole milk and ice cream and blend until smooth
  9. Remove glass from freezer
  10. Cut a hunk of cake
  11. Assemble and enjoy!
